Sky Sports: Revolutionising the Edinburgh Derby with Innovative Technology

Hibs vs Hearts Live Stream: Sky Sports Introduces New Features for the SPFL Match on 27 December

Hibs Head Coach Nick Montgomery will be wearing a microphone throughout the match. Fans watching at home will be able to hear the coach and his tactics from the sidelines, while a member of the coaching staff will be wearing a bodycam for a first-hand view of the action on the pitch.

Fans will also get to see how the players rehearse ahead of one of the top-of-the-table games on the SPFL schedule. Sky Sports will be granted exclusive access to the hearts team hotel for pre-match lunch, while a Hearts player will be fitted with a bodycam during the warm-up to bring a new level of detail to the broadcast.

The aim of the broadcast is to capture the emotion, the drama and the highlights of the derby.

This comes on the back of Sky’s latest ‘Innovative Game’ for the EFL, which saw new behind-the-scenes access to the broadcast of Wycombe vs. Portsmouth in League One.

Football Sky Sports Director, Gary Hughes, commented: “Football Sky Sports is committed to innovation and continues to look for new ways to bring our fans closer to the action. We are proud to have worked with Hibs, Hearts, and the SPFL to bring the story of this highly competitive derby to our viewers in a new and innovative way.”

The SPFL’s Group Chief Executive, Neil Doncaster, added: “We are delighted to have worked with both parties and Sky Sports to bring their latest broadcasting innovations to our audience, helping to put supporters right in the heart of the Edinburgh derby.”

It’s sure to be an exciting match and we look forward to seeing how the technology improves the viewing experience for fans.
